PS4 Exclusives Get Price Drops: God Of War, Uncharted, And More

With all of the big games launching between now and the end of the year, it can be easy to forget about all the games that came out in the past year or so. Sony hopes you won't forget many of the recent PS4 exclusives. With that in mind, the company has dropped the suggested retail price of four of its big games: God of War, Detroit: Become Human, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, and the PS4 remaster of Shadow of the Colossus.

Two of this year's biggest PS4 exclusives, God of War and Detroit: Become Human, both got $20 price drops, bringing them down to $40 apiece. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and Shadow of the Colossus are available for $20 each going forward.

Permanent price cuts are common for older games, though some companies are more forthcoming with them than others. You can count on getting last year's Call of Duty for about half price by the time the next installment rolls around, but Nintendo tends to keep prices for its first-party games etched in stone for as long as possible. For instance, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which came out well before any of these PS4 games, still sells for $60 on the Nintendo eShop and $55 on Amazon.

This isn't the first time Sony has given PS4 games permanent price drops, either. Earlier this year, the company released the PlayStation Hits line of games, in which 15 titles--most of them PS4 exclusives--were given a special red case and a $20 price point.

BioWare producer to hold Anthem live stream next week

BioWare's Michael Gamble, Lead Producer on the upcoming Anthem, has stated on Twitter that he is hoping to demonstrate more footage of the sci-fi epic's gameplay during an upcoming live stream.

Originally planned for Halloween, Gamble now thinks that the stream will take place on November 1. Tentative plans are to demonstrate the character creation tool, before taking said homemade hero into the game for - and I quote - "hijinks and hilarity" which, to be fair, is all I want from my live streams.

Anthem, which has been a BioWare labor of love of since way back in 2012, is expected to launch on PS4, Xbox One and PC on February 22, bringing multiplayer RPG action to a shared universe filled with exploration and dramatic, action-packed quests.

The Lord of the Rings Online is getting its own 'classic edition' in the form of legendary servers

Just as Blizzard is cashing in on nostalgia with "WoW Classic," a re-creation of the original era of World of Warcraft, so too is the Lord of the Rings Online team working on a classic rendition of LOTRO. Dubbed "legendary servers," these shards will allow players to start the game all over again and begin the journey of the Fellowship anew with equal footing. Initially, legendary servers will cap at level 50 (it's currently 120 on normal servers): a number that will slowly rise over time (something that differentiates it from WoW Classic).

Interestingly this build will include new classes like the Beornings, as well as all of the modern conveniences, from gameplay mechanics to the technical side. It is rather restricted though, as only VIP (subscribers for this free-to-play game) and lifetime VIP players can access legendary play.

Publisher Daybreak notes that transfers are currently not open for the upcoming legendary servers and that both versions of the game (legendary and modern, which yes, continues to be patched) will continue to be updated side by side.
