You can trade in your enemy's teeth to "bend" time in vampire RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker, care of some really horrible Tooth Fairies

I've been vaguely looking forward to grotty dark fantasy RPG The Blood Of Dawnwalker, despite its genAI flirtations. To recap, it casts you as a medieval vampire fledgling whose family has been abducted by another, boss vampire. You've got 30 days and nights to save your loved ones while deciding just how much you're going to succumb to the gore-guzzling curse.

The PlayStation Store and Network are down – a great sign for Sony's all-digital, no-disc future

Sony's Playstation Store and PlayStation Network are down for many users, making purchases and some games and features unavailable.

PlayStation status detector reports "all services are experiencing issues" for both the US and UK. The issues began around 10:19am EST, according to a footnote in the status detector. Ol' reliable, Downdetector, shows the same.

When Sony says all services, it means it. On every platform, from PS Vita to PS5, the ability to purchase, download, browse, search, or redeem games is looking wobbly. Sign in, account details, PlayStation video apps, gaming trophies and widgets, and, perhaps most obviously, streaming may also be affected.

GamesRadar+ UK staff have ran run issues of our own, though some US writers have lucked into functionality. I was somehow able to claim and start a download for Crosscode, one of this month's PS Plus freebies, and a game everyone should play.

"You might have difficulty getting products on the PlayStation Store," Sony's official disclaimer reads. "We're working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience."

This, of course, comes on the heels of the news that Sony will end support for physical PlayStation games in January 2028. Among the many, many concerns around the move, an especially relevant one is the fragile nature of all-digital platforms and how outages or connectivity issues can obstruct access to games.

Provided there's no login wall – another wonderful tripping hazard of modern gaming, most recently demonstrated by Halo: Campaign Evolved – the only way a server crash will break a physical game is if that server stack lands on the disc and shatters it. But digital games are beholden to their platform holders, and those platform holders are powerless before the ruler of ethereal spaghetti code, culprit of all technical issues.
