Daredevil star Charlie Cox hopes he can continue playing the superhero for another 10 years

Good news Marvel fans, Daredevil star Charlie Cox isn't going anywhere as he hopes he can continue to portray the famous superhero for another decade.

"There will definitely come a time where I am not able to do it anymore, but for right now, [we'll] just keep doing the best job we can and loving it," Cox told Deadline at Disney's recent Upfronts presentation. "I feel incredibly grateful to still be making the show, and hopefully we've got another 10 years in us."

Cox first suited up as the blind lawyer by day Matt Murdock and red-suited vigilante Daredevil by night back in 2015 with the superhero’s very own series Daredevil, which premiered on Netflix and ran for 3 seasons. He then reprised his role in The Defenders and Echo (now part of the new The Defenders saga), and in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Cox even made a cameo on the big screen in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

However, as much as Cox would like to play the character for another decade, it seems he may have a few obstacles in the way. "My knees are not what they were ten years ago, nor is my back," said Cox later in the interview. "It's a really physically demanding show, which I love. We wouldn't have it any other way. It's kind of what makes it what it is,"

But his journey isn't ending anytime soon as he is back as the guardian devil in Marvel Studios' TV reboot Daredevil: Born Again which hits Disney Plus next spring. The upcoming season welcomes back the bulk of the 2015 original's cast including Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson. Wilson Bethel is also back as the assassin Bullseye and Jon Bernthal is returning as Frank Castle AKA The Punisher

An official synopsis for the series is yet to be revealed, but the first trailer was recently shown behind closed doors seeing Cox back in the iconic Daredevil suit. At the same time, the series’ new logo was unveiled alongside news of reduced episode count.

Daredevil: Born Again hits Disney Plus in March 2025. For more, check out our guide on how to watch The Defenders saga in order, or see upcoming Marvel movies and TV shows for everything else the MCU has in store.

Leaked Assassin's Creed Shadows details point to dual protagonists, potentially including Yasuke, Japan's first black samurai

Information about Assassin's Creed Shadow's (previously Codename Red) protagonists may have been leaked prior to the game's cinematic trailer debut.

Assassin's Creed has always been particularly prone to leakage - even from publisher Ubisoft, who just made an oopsie and potentially revealed the game's release date - and the series' first trip to Feudal Japan is no different. Leaked box art images feature two badass protagonists and details from normally reliable AssCreed leaker j0nathan sheds light on both.

Unlike Valhalla, which made you choose between Girl Eivor and Boy Eivor, Shadows' two main samurai seem to be two entirely different characters, according to a now-delisted YouTube video from j0nathan. There's Yasuke, who appears to be based on Japan's first recorded black samurai, and then there's Naoe, presumably the assassin who's been dangerously posing on the game's only officially revealed art, in the headline image above, for years.

Ubisoft loves revenge tales. Samurai are attracted to revenge by nature. Thus, both our (anti?) heroes are reportedly fueled, and potentially brought together, by vengeance. Yasuke is supposedly out to avenge his wife's murder, while Naoe has some personal beef with the old rendition of the Templars, which I'm guessing is how Ubisoft ties the game into the other 912 Assassin's Creed games.

There was also mention of potential microtransactions, buyable in-game currency, expansion packs, and season passes - the latter of which was corroborated by Insider Gaming - but before we all get our pitchforks out, this is all unconfirmed.

We'll find out for sure soon enough. Assassin's Creed Shadows is getting a cinematic trailer and some new, official information later today at 5pm BST, 12pm ET ahead of its release within this fiscal year.

Apart from the name and setting, details are relatively light for the upcoming game. But we do know that Shadows is another full-fat, full-bloat RPG following in the footsteps of Valhalla and Odyssey, rather than the stripped-down stealthy stabathon of Mirage. Also worth keeping an eye out for Assassin's Creed Infinity news, the series' mysterious, connecting hub.

Believe it or not, there are a zillion other upcoming Assassin’s Creed games in development.

"This is Diablo 4 as it should have originally been released": Blizzard's action-RPG continues its very uneven trajectory with huge praise for Season 4

Diablo 4 Season 4 has just gone live, and it looks like yet another redemption story for Blizzard's ongoing ARPG.

Diablo 4 has been a tale of peaks and valleys since launch last year. The game launched to player and critical acclaim, before everything went up in the smoke with some contentious pre-Season 1 changes. Things seemed to stabilize in Season 2, before Season 3 launched to mass criticism, with players lamenting "boring" traps and a "useless" companion to boot.

In yet another twist, Season 4: Season of Loot is going down a treat right after launch with players. "After not playing for almost 8 months this game is hardly recognizable and I am having a lot more fun," the first Reddit post just below reads of Season 4, adding that Blizzard's developers have done a "good job cleaning the game up over the months."

Diablo 4 is so much better now. from r/diablo4

The post below praises Season 4 as the "best start to the season I have played," adding that it "explodes everywhere" and "this is Diablo 4 as it should have originally been released." This is big praise from someone who has consistently played every Diablo 4 season to date, and has seen the highs and lows first-hand for themselves every few months.

Best Season start so far, thanks blizzard from r/diablo4

But what's actually so good about the new season? One Reddit post points to the new Helltide boss as evidence of just how good things are now, a fight that walks a fine line between being difficult but not frustrating for scores of players to battle at once. "So much fun, I've never felt such a sense of community in a diablo game before. Cannot wait to play more tomorrow!" the player writes.

Diablo 4's Season 4 was always billed as a huge overhaul for the ARPG - so huge that it required the first public test realm server since launch last year, a staple of other Diablo games in years gone by. Diablo 4 will "probably" get more PTR servers in the future, according to one Blizzard developer recently, and I can only imagine Season 4's excellent launch has hastened this approach.

Diablo 4 lead says "obvious" bad ideas used to "fall through the cracks" because the devs didn't fully realize "doing this 2,000 times is actually terrible."

Nier’s producer, director, and composer are teaming up again for something that may or may not be a new Nier

Nier Automata 2B standing in forest

It's been seven years since the release of Nier: Automata. Now, that game's producer, director, and composer are confirmed to be working together on a new project, but producer Yosuke Saito has stopped short of saying it's a new Nier sequel.

Saito, who also served as a producer on Nier: Replicant and as executive producer on Nier: Reincarnation, shared the news in the latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu (via Games Talk / Gematsu). All he was willing to say about his new project is that it also involves Yoko Taro, creator and director of the Nier series, and Keiichi Okabe, one of the Nier series' composers. Saito did cheekily hint that their project could be Nier related, saying, "It might be Nier, it might not be Nier. That’s about all I can say for now."

Nier Replicant will be on PlayStation Plus Extra this month.

Saito added that he's "been talking about wanting to do something with Yoko and Okabe for some time now," and he hopes to have more to share "in the not-too-distant future." Hopefully, he means before the end of the year. Even if it's not Nier related, anything these three are working on is bound to be interesting, especially if Taro is back in the director's chair.

That said, I'd argue there's a good chance it is a Nier 3 (Ni3r?). At the very least, a new Nier game is bound to happen someday. Nier: Automata was a huge success for publisher Square Enix, both critically and financially. Even seven years later, it's continued to push sales, with developer PlatinumGames announcing this past February it had sold 8 million copies worldwide. It clearly did well enough to spawn an updated remaster of the first Nier, a mobile spin-off, multiple concerts, and an anime adaptation. Protagonist 2B has become so popular that she's made special guest appearances in so many other games, from Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising to Goddess of Victory: Nikke.

I think it's a matter of when, not if we ever see a new Nier. Unlike Nier: Automata, though, it may not be a PlayStation exclusive at launch. Square Enix has recently said it intends to pursue a more aggressive multiplatform strategy, suggesting an end to even limited console exclusives like Nier: Automata was.

Diablo 4 season 4 is not even a day old and fans think its the best season start so far

Diablo 4 season 4 character in demon armor surrounded by flames

Blizzard Entertainment promised some big changes to Diablo 4 with its fourth season; ones that would affect the entire game, such as its Tempering System and Masterworking. While the season lacks any new mechanics, it appears focusing on revamping the core game has paid off since players' early impressions of season 4 are very positive.

Season 4 began less than 24 hours ago, and there's already plenty of praise to be found over on the Diablo 4 subreddit. At the time of writing, the top thread is simply labelled "Diablo 4 is so much better now," with user bluephantasm1 admitting they hadn't played the game in almost eight months, but it's become "hardly recognizable and I am having a lot more fun. Devs have done a good job cleaning the game up over the months."

https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo4/comments/1cs6tv4/diablo_4_is_so_much_better_now/

At the time of writing, their comment has received 1,200 upvotes, with additional comments from other players complimenting the changes and how they've simply made Diablo 4 more fun to play. Common talking points are how much quicker it is to level up your character, meaning you're less likely to burn out while grinding, and the improvements to item/Aspect management, since all Aspects now exist within the Codex of Power.

A separate thread thanks Blizzard for the "best season start so far," while another calls the new Helltide boss "amazing." One player is just happy how they and their wife are "straight bossing mountains of enemies" this season. All in all, it's a good time to be a Diablo 4 player and, if you ever dropped off, it sounds like it's well worth jumping back in.

While the developers at Blizzard are bound to be thrilled with the warm reception, it now has to maintain this momentum. After all, season 4 has only just begun so the honeymoon period could wear off sooner rather than later. Even if player reception stays positive all the way through, future seasons need to keep them happy and engaged. Otherwise, they'll just stop playing. Hopefully, with this season bringing a much needed overhaul to Diablo 4, the team can prioritize entirely new mechanics and content updates for season 5 and beyond.
