Ghost of Yōtei “Always Felt Great” to Play, Says Shuhei Yoshida

While Sucker Punch’s highly-anticipated follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yōtei, arrives this year, a release date is still pending. We’ve also yet to see extensive gameplay, though the official PlayStation page confirmed new weapon types and PS5 Pro support.

However, former SIE Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida played it during early development and offered extensive praise. Appearing on the Easy Allies Podcast, he revealed it was “kind of bug-free” and “somehow the game doesn’t crash.” “They have been changing the battle so many times, but still, it always works.”

Even after leaving Sony, Yoshida was invited to playtest the game and offer feedback. “It always felt great.” He also noted that Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch stand out for “always making the game feel right” and that their titles felt “so natural and intuitive to play”.

Ghost of Yōtei unfolds over 300 years after Tsushima’s events and focuses on a new protagonist, Atsu. On a mission to hunt those responsible for killing her family, she dons the Ghost moniker and ventures to Hokkaido, taking on various bounties.

While further details have yet to be revealed, Sucker Punch has confirmed that players will have more control over the story. Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.

'It was always an option': Overwatch 2 devs reveal that going third person isn't as big a leap as some players think

Overwatch 2 Stadium is a pretty impressive break from the norm, with it shrinking down maps and objectives, adding a best-of-seven round format, and, of course, having a third-person option. Though this last feature may seem slightly jarring at first, given that Overwatch has been a staple FPS for so long, it's not an entirely new idea.

"[We] toyed with it in Overwatch 1 at certain points, just internally, little prototypes and stuff," senior game designer Dylan Snyder says in an interview with The Gamer. "When we animate, there's a first-person version and a third-person version, and [it] has always been that way since day one. So it was always an option."

Best of the best

While most players wouldn't use third-person mode in regular old Overwatch, it has always had its uses. Reinhardt's view shifts from first to third person when he uses his shield to give players a better idea of what they're protecting, and the same goes with Brigitte. And if you want to watch a game back, you also have the option to watch in third-person or via a flying camera.

"As long as there's been game mode ideation on Overwatch, there's been a whiteboard somewhere at Blizzard where there's a list of things that are like, 'this is what we're going to do, '" Ryan Smith, lead level designer, says. "I bet third person has been on a lot of those whiteboards."

I don't doubt that a third-person mode crossed the minds of those working on Overwatch a few times. But the timing of the Stadium and the fact that Blizzard revealed it months after an incredibly successful Marvel Rivals launch seems more tactical than coincidental.

D.Va in Stadium spawn

I've been playing Stadium every chance I've got since the playtest began at the start of the week, and while I absolutely love all the wacky builds you can make and the new round format, I'm not entirely sold on its third-person POV.

While it can be quite helpful for peeking around corners as Widowmaker or Soldier 76, or extending your field of view as Mercy, I've found that it's more of a hindrance than a blessing. Playing any tank character in third person is quite tricky, and especially hard as D.Va, who takes up a lot of space on the screen and zips around regularly.

I'm sure playing in third person will get a bit easier as time goes on and I become more accustomed to it. But for now, at least, I'd much rather just flip back to first person and enjoy this new mode while getting to grips with other new features like items and powers and just worry about working in third person mode another time.

Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti launch day: Where to buy the new mainstream GeForce RTX 50-series graphics card, including all those at MSRP

Today's the day that Nvidia officially launches its GeForce RTX 5060 Ti series of graphics cards, with two variants on offer: 8 GB and 16 GB. Many retailers are already showing a variety of different models to choose from, but you'll need to wait until 6am PT/9am EST/2pm BST to get your hands on one.

With 4,608 shaders (along with 144 TMUs and 48 ROPs), the RTX 5060 Ti is only a fractionally larger GPU than its predecessor, the RTX 4060 Ti. Even the boost clock is just a few MHz higher, but in its favour, the RTX 5060 Ti sports GDDR7 running at 28 Gbps—that gives it a total VRAM bandwidth of 448 GB/s, significantly more than the 4060 Ti's 288 GB/s.

As with all RTX 50-series graphics cards, you're getting the full DLSS 4 suite of upscaling, frame generation, and other AI goodies.

When Nvidia announced the prices for the RTX 5060 Ti, we were all pleasantly surprised by the fact that Team Green hadn't bumped them right up. There's no Founders Edition from Nvidia for the RTX 5060 Ti but there's a decent range of base models from every AIB partner to choose from.

However, we have no idea what stocks are going to be like, nor what the eventual non-MSRP models will sell for. Given the current uncertainties about US tariffs on computer components, it's probably going to be quite messy.

Quick retailer links

US RTX 5060 Ti retailers:

UK RTX 5060 Ti retailers:

MSRP model retail links

Below you'll find all the models that are already listed at MSRP, or we've been told they will be at MSRP at launch. Note that for the US market, there's not a single 8 GB RTX 5060 Ti listed for $349 or 16 GB for $399, whereas the UK does have a few models at the suggested retail price.

It's worth noting that more 5060 Ti cards might appear at MSRP after launch, but given the current tariff situation in the US, that might not happen at all. And for those in the UK that are listed at MSRP, there's always the chance that the price rapidly increases as stocks dwindle.

Non-MSRP model retail links

Here's the list of non-MSRP models, and you can see that for the US market, it's slim pickings. It's not a case that retailers are displaying forthcoming models without prices; this is literally all that's on show right now.

Over in the UK, there's a much wider range of 8 GB and 16 GB RTX 5060 Ti cards at non-MSRP, but many of them have placeholder values (e.g. £7,000!) or nothing whatsoever, so I've just listed the retailer's entry as is.

Tips and tricks

  • Set up user accounts at large retailers ahead of time.
  • Don't refresh too often, you might get blocked by automated systems. Try to be patient if pages load slowly.
  • Hedge your bets with various retailers—keeping an eye on only one retailer can cause disappointment.
  • Don't give up on Best Buy (and others)—in recent years, Best Buy has gradually rolled out supply, meaning there's sometimes still a chance to score a card after the launch hour.
  • Sign up for stock alerts ahead of time—some retailers (Micro Center) demand it.
  • Keep an eye on stock lottery programs, such as the Newegg Shuffle.
  • If you don't score one this time, don't fret. Considering the poor response to this card, prices may come down in the future, and there's always AMD's RX 9060 XT launch later in the year.
