The DCU won't make room for Pierce Brosnan's Doctor Fate and I'm crushed

It’s safe to assume that most folks knew 2022’s DC movie Black Adam wouldn’t live up to all the hype or marketing of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. As such, nobody could expect Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate would steal the show alongside the rest of his Justice Society teammates. So when Brosnan, in an interview with GQ, recently said he was open to reprising his role, fans were ready to embrace his return with open arms.

No, Arc Raiders wasn't robbed from a Game Awards' GOTY nomination

There’s no question that 2025 has been the year of multiplayer. Split Fiction was an instant addition to the co-op canon. Battlefield 6 reinvigorated interest in a once-great first-person shooter.Arc Raiders has come in hot, with the same momentum that Helldivers 2 had last year. Games like Peak and R.E.P.O. have helped popularize an emerging breed of small-scale co-op hits. Hell, even FromSoftware made a pretty solid multiplayer game! All of those examples come together to form the defining trend in video games this year.

Among millions of Arc Raiders, Embark says 117 legendary players "somehow downed themselves" with rocks in the Breaking New Ground community event

Embark Studios have released the stats on the latest Arc Raiders community event called Breaking New Ground. Out of the millions of players who took part in the event, 117 somehow managed to knock themselves out by throwing rocks.

Volcanic Rocks are items that occasionally spawn in Arc Raiders, and players can throw them to deal damage. However, they can also bounce back or land on players when thrown directly upwards. This naturally means that you can end up downed by your own rock.

As soon as the stat was released, players took to social media to figure out how anyone could down themselves with a rock, let alone 117 people. However, soon people started admitting to their own in-game failures.

People soon took to Reddit to tell their stories. "So I'm one of the 117 raiders," one user writes. "I'm not sure what happened." They blame a "collision glitch" for the accident saying, "It sent me flying straight up."

Unfortunately, they didn't have video evidence, and apparently, "could not duplicate it again."

how. actually how have you done this. from r/ArcRaiders

Another user doubts that all of the deaths were due to self-thrown rocks, but rather errors in the stats. "The game has some problems with damage attribution," they claim. "Before the servers went down two nights ago, I had three rounds where player damage and Arc damage all showed that I downed myself, no grenades used, no splash explosions."

However, another user admits that their accidental knockout by rock was all their fault. "My mate got a call," they explain. "I was looking around to protect while no one showed up, my brain got an idea out of curiosity."

They say that they threw a rock at their friend who was no longer playing before "it bounced two times and knocked me." To make it worse, they bled out before their friend got back. Don't worry, though, the other character got out unscathed.

Arc Raiders sets another Steam record for a third weekend in a row, surpassing 481,000 concurrent players despite competition from Call of Duty and Escape from Tarkov
