Deadpool 3 director says you don't need to watch any MCU movies before this one

You won't need to be an Marvel expert to enjoy Deadpool & Wolverine, according to director Shawn Levy.

Not only is the movie in the MCU, which is a behemoth of a franchise at this point, it's also bringing Hugh Jackman's Wolverine into the fold – meaning Fox's X-Men movies are part of the equation, too.

But, Levy has reassured everyone that no prep work is required to enjoy the new movie. "I was a good student in school. I'll do my homework as an adult. But I am definitely not looking to do homework when I go to the movies," he told AP News

"I very much made this film with certainly a healthy respect and gratitude towards the rabid fan base that has peak fluency in the mythology and lore of these characters and this world," he added. "But I didn't want to presume that. This movie is built for entertainment, with no obligation to come prepared with prior research."

The movie will see Deadpool and Wolverine join forces – and, thanks to a trailer screened behind closed doors at CinemaCon, it looks like they'll be tasked with saving the Sacred Timeline. Of course, that raises some questions, considering the ending of Loki season 2. We'll just have to see what happens…

"As far as crafting the Deadpool & Wolverine story, I just felt privileged every day because you're talking about two massive movie stars in their most iconic roles. It also gave me an opportunity. It's the third Deadpool movie, but it's not Deadpool 3," Levy has said previously. "It's a different thing that's very much Deadpool & Wolverine. And it's not trying to copycat anything from the first two movies. They were awesome, but this is a two-hander character adventure."

Deadpool 3 arrives this July 26. In the meantime, check out our guide to all the upcoming Marvel movies and TV shows for everything else the MCU has in store.

Following in Nier Automata's footsteps, Stellar Blade will "absolutely" crossover with the gacha game built specifically to stare at butt jiggles

Stellar Blade is rolling out across the world today, but launch certainly isn't the end since its director has teased a crossover between the hack-n-slashin' action game and the studio's previous gacha release, best known for its - checks notes - butt-jiggling physics.

Stellar Blade director Kim Hyung-tae, when asked about potential collaborations during an interview with GamerBraves, said we can "absolutely" expect a crossover with the free-to-play gacha game Goddess of Victory: Nikke, which was also developed by studio Shift Up.

"At the right timing, we will be presenting a very high-quality crossover collaboration between the two," Hyung-tae continues, "so it's something that you can definitely look forward to." There's no word on whether the crossover event will take place in Stellar Blade, Nikke, or both - but a crossover is coming all the same.

Goddess of Victory: Nikke, for those of you who are blissfully unaware, makes itself extra marketable with a peculiar focus on the character's backsides and, err, the way everything wobbles mid-animation. Nier Automata's 2B even joined the game to make its selling point even clearer, and since the Stellar Blade team also paid "special attention" to protagonist Eve's posterior, I wouldn't be surprised to see her join the battle either.

Our Stellar Blade review called the action RPG "more ambitious and varied than expected" with bombastic boss battles and production values that only a butt-jiggling, gacha-driven game studio could afford. But the game's "forced sex appeal" also hurts its story, even if it provides Stellar Blade with its most marketable asset.

Stellar Blade director previously joked the game was “the outcome of my creative dictatorship.”

As Fallout TV show hype continues but Fallout 4's new-gen upgrade falters, the DLC-sized Fallout Miami mod takes the post apocalypse to the beach with a new trailer

Fallout hype is truly inescapable at this point, with the TV show driving popularity and Fallout 4 even getting its long-awaited next-gen update (even if the latter has been considered rather disappointing by many). One way or another, everyone is trying to live their best post-nuclear apocalypse life right now, and this enormous mod for Fallout 4 looks like it'll enable us to do just that.

Fallout: Miami is a DLC-sized mod for Fallout 4, which has been in development for years – it received its first trailer all the way back in 2018. As its name suggests, it'll take players to Miami Beach, in an area which will, according to the devs, roughly span "South Pointe Pier to Fontainebleau Hotel." It's set to feature a main quest, along with new side-quests and items, as well as a cast of voiced characters.

The full mod still doesn't have a release window, but the team has released a new environmental trailer showing off a work-in-progress look at everywhere from the beach itself, to the degraded streets, and the insides of multiple buildings, seemingly including the Miami Beach Convention Center. All in all, it's looking really promising, and for anyone feeling let down by Fallout 4's official next-gen update, the thought of this being released at some point in the future might offer some consolation.

Fallout: Miami isn't the only enormous mod that's in the works for Fallout 4 right now. The highly anticipated Fallout: London mod was actually supposed to launch earlier this week, but it's been indefinitely delayed as a result of the next-gen update's release consequently requiring new fixes to be implemented. At the time of writing, the Fallout: London team hasn't given a fresh release window, so we'll just have to stay tuned.

Be sure to check out our ranking of the best Fallout games to find your next post-nuclear adventure.

Stephen King has big praise for Netflix's current number 1 show, and fans agree

Horror master Stephen King has shared his verdict on Netflix's new number 1 show – and he sounds blown away by what he's seen.

Currently, Baby Reindeer occupies the Netflix top spot worldwide. The show, which has been streaming since April 11, is based on creator Richard Gadd's real life experiences and is a black comedy.

The seven-part TV show focuses on Donny, a fictionalized version of Gadd, who is being obsessively stalked by a woman named Martha. Gadd plays Donny, with Jessica Gunning co-starring as Martha.

Taking to Twitter, King revealed his thoughts on the new Netflix show: "BABY REINDEER: Holy shit."

"Phenomenal show. One of the most honest things I’ve ever seen in my life," says one viewer, while another says: "I can't stop thinking about Baby Reindeer. I watched it over the course of the last week and I loved it on every level. Great writing, masterful performances all-round, the very highest of recommendations."

"This is the only appropriate reaction to the series. It's so much, so much real, so much uncomfortable, just so much depth," says another person

"I have to agree. I'm on ep 5 still and I can't stop thinking about this story! 'Holy shit' is the appropriate reaction," adds another viewer

"You're so right, Stephen. So disturbing. And one of my favourite TV shows in years. A must watch," is another person's verdict

It's not just King who's impressed, either, with the show securing a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score

All episodes of Baby Reindeer are streaming now. For more, check out our roundup of the best Netflix shows to fill out your watchlist.

The best Apex Legends character is free, and easy to unlock forever

The best Apex Legends character is free, and easy to unlock forever

What makes Apex Legends stand out, for me, against rivals such as PUBG Battlegrounds, The Finals, Counter-Strike 2, and even Fortnite, is its deep sense of character. Each of the eponymous Legends is unique and distinct, bringing their own personality and skill set to the battlefield. If you jump into the ongoing Apex Legends Breakout season right now, you can play perhaps as the most fun character of them all for free, and with just a little game time you’ll unlock them to keep forever.
