Warhammer 40k Darktide is getting another new class, and I swear to god if it's not a toaster…

I'm a simple man. If I see the Adeptus Mechanicus involved in a Warhammer project, I click buy. Whether it's my tabletop army, creating my own personal collection of IRL servo skulls, or indeed something from our list of the best Warhammer 40k games, I'm a toaster man through and through. And we're eating right now. The recent Mechanicus 2 demo was excellent (even if I was more impressed by the Necrons), my Dawn of War 4 preview features our not-so-friendly robots, and I really hope Warhammer 40k Darktide is next. Developer Fatshark has teased that a new class is on the way, and I've got a funny feeling that something robotic this way comes.

Vermintide 2 is bringing back an iconic map from the first game, and it's not an April Fool's joke this time

It's been a long time since I fought my way through the rat-infested sewers of Helmgart, and even longer since I saw the sights of Ubersreik along with my friends. I mostly find myself revelling in the grit of Hive Tertium these days, and yet I was still aghast to find that it's been a decade since we first explored the streets of Ubersreik in Vermintide. This series has produced some phenomenal games that I've spent hours embattled within, and they rightfully have a place on our list of the best Warhammer games. Developer Fatshark is also feeling nostalgic, because it is adding a classic level to Vermintide 2 as part of its anniversary celebrations.

Fallout 4 is getting the Skyrim treatment with a 10th anniversary edition that includes all the expansions and a mountain of Creation content

Fallout 5 was nowhere to be seen during today's Fallout Day broadcast, but Bethesda did unveil some sort-of-newish Fallout in the form of the Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition and the Fallout: New Vegas 15th Anniversary Bundle, a big-box package that comes complete with a big ol' Securitron statue.

I'm going to go with the New Vegas package first, because I'm a sucker for big boxes and game statues: It does indeed come in a big box, and also carries a big price tag of $155, plus whatever shipping costs are involved.

For that, you get the 8-inch tall PVC statue of Victor the Securitron, plus a Vault Boy pin, psych eval cards, a Mojave Express patch, and NCR Recon patch. And yes, the game is in there too, although true old-timers may be disappointed: It's not a disc, but a download code for Fallout: New Vegas and its six expansions: Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, Lonesome Road, Gun Runners' Arsenal, and Courier's Stash.

My personal appreciation for swag aside, the Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition is probably the bigger deal. It too includes the base game and six official add-ons—Automatron, Far Harbor, Nuka-World, and three Workshop expansions—and also features more than 150 Creation Club items, and a new in-game Creations menu that Bethesda says will make it "easier than ever to discover, download and enjoy content from professional developers and passionate enthusiasts alike."

The Fallout: New Vegas 15th Anniversary Bundle is up for preorder now but won't be out until sometime in 2026. The Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition is set to go live on November 10—pricing on that, and info on possible upgrade options for existing Fallout 4 owners, was not revealed.

Fallout 4 cheats: Nuclear codes
New Vegas console commands: Stacked deck
Oblivion console commands: Crisis controls
Skyrim console commands: Tune your Tamriel

'Something needs to be done about this': Battlefield 6 players are fed up with 'absolutely disgusting' Call of Duty-like mobility

I've seen a lot of horrifying sights as we creep closer to Halloween: a giant flesh-hungry eyeball in YAPYAP, a seagull eating a pigeon at the end of my street, but this Battlefield 6 video really takes the cake.

Posted on Reddit by Ok_Paramedic4770, the video shows some freak rush into a room mid-fight in Battlefield 6, dodging every incoming bullet by sliding and jumping out of the way and then executing Ok_Paramedic4770 on the spot. It's pretty brutal.

"This is absolutely disgusting to see in a Battlefield game," Ok_Paramedic4770 says. "And this is coming from someone who plays COD. Something needs to be done about this. I don't want anything reminding me of COD gameplay when I'm playing a Battlefield game for an immersive experience."

This is absolutely disgusting to see in a Battlefield game.. from r/Battlefield6

When DICE spent the lead-up to Battlefield 6's launch hyping players up with ideas of how Battlefield 6 brings the series back to its OG grounded roots with trailers poking fun at COD's ridiculous skins, it's not surprising that this kind of movement tech would set some Battlefield veterans on edge..

"You should not be able to jump from a slide and also go from jump to a slide," one player says. Someone else suggested that instead of actually getting ridiculous mobility, players should just faceplant if they attempt a move like this, "giving us a concussed effect."

Others point out that this rapid fellow is level 105 already: "That's possibly the worst part of the video. Guy must have spent every waking moment in-game since launch."

These complaints come amid another controversy that's unfolding in Battlefield 6 right now: the sparkly skins. Alright, the skin is shiny, but it is bright blue, and players aren't happy; some have even condemned those who wear it to a life with no revives.

This is all to say that despite a fantastic reception, Battlefield 6 is in a slightly precarious position. By marketing itself on what it is not, it's created a rather slim road ahead for itself: one that has to thread the gap between player expectation and profitability.. But as the seasons progress, I'm sure players will stay ever vigilant over any possible slip-ups or deviations from this new norm, whether that be by publicly shaming those with bright skins or throwing digital tomatoes at mobility gods.

Assassin's Creed Shadows finally hits Switch 2 in December, but you can probably already guess the bad news: Ubisoft is sticking with game-key cards over real physical releases

After months of rumors, Ubisoft has finally made it official: Assassin's Creed Shadows is coming to Switch 2. The long-awaited port lands in December at a slightly discounted price over the previously released versions, but as with Star Wars Outlaws before, collectors will likely be disappointed to learn that it's launching on a game-key card.

Assassin's Creed Shadows hits Switch 2 on December 2. Ubisoft confirms in a press release that it'll be priced at $59.99 / £49.99 for either a digital version on the eShop or a "physical edition including a Nintendo Switch 2 game-key card."

That likely won't be a surprise given that Star Wars Outlaws also landed on the platform with a game-key card, a decision one Ubisoft dev attributed to performance concerns, but it's still a bummer for physical media holdouts.

Regardless, the Switch 2 version will launch in near-parity with the existing versions, including all previously released content except, notably, the Claws of Awaji DLC expansion, which will instead arrive on Nintendo's console "early next year."

The Switch 2 version will also launch with "touch screen support, making navigation of menus, maps and the hideout more intuitive than ever," and cross-progression through a Ubisoft Connect account, allowing you to pick up your save on the new platform even if you've already started the game on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, or PC.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director thinks "Nintendo will put more effort into popularizing" the Switch 2's controversial game key cards, which he calls "a really amazing new idea."
